"I was out one night with Vitas Gerulaitus and he suggested we go up to Richard Weisman's apartment at the United Nations for a dinner party. I asked "Who is Richard Weisman?" Vitas assured me that I'd love him. Richard always had an eclectic group of people around - artists, writers, business and sports people. So Vitas and I went, and that was the beginning of my great friendship with Richard. As we walked into the apartment I was drawn to all the amazing artwork. I was struck by the enormous flower painting in the living room by Andy Warhol. It was bold colors of bright red and orange on a flat background. I knew it was pop art and I wanted to know more. When I woke up the next morning, still thinking about the painting, I called Richard and said "I want to meet Andy Warhol." Richard said, "No problem. Meet me at the Factory at 1:00." We all sat down for a lunch that lasted for hours. Andy asked all the questions and made me think that I was the most fascinating person in the world. When I walked out of there he made me feel like I was as beautiful as those flowers on the wall."
